When hiking goes wrong

I absolutely love days like this!!! My sweetie and I decided to go on a picnic and hiking today.  It was so relaxing!!! Sometimes it's good to get away and enjoy nature.  While hiking and taking pictures, two hikers ended up falling further down the trail (its 2.5 miles long total).  It took 2.5 hours, the police, military, rescue squad, paramedics, and the park ranger to get these two up.  I'm not sure how they were rescued but I do know the rescue squad and the military personnel both wend down with rope and other supplies in a backpack.

How is it that medical staff that work in conditions such as these today are not required to be in shape??? 80% of the people that when down the trail struggled and were out of breath within 20 seconds of beginning.  Nonetheless, I'm glad everyone was ok.

You know, I think I should do things like this more often.  I love moments like this with my boo.  No phone, just us enjoying each other and, in this case, nature.  I can't wait to see what adventures we embark on next.

30 Day Shred...Day 1

I can't believe I finally did it! I think I'm more excited for myself than anything.  I have been thinking about doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred DVD for so long but I am just taking the first step and actually doing it!! I recorded a video before and afterwards and put it below. I'll try and do the same sort of thing every 10 days until the 30 days in complete.  After I finish it I'll post my final review.

This was my first vlog so feel free to leave any suggestions in the comments section.  It is essential I invest in a tripod ASAP.

XOXO,

Good Deeds review

OK, so I finally had the chance to check out the movie Good Deeds last night and decided to write a review.  Even though my sweetie didn't really want to go see it, he did it just for me!! :-)  Overall I thought it was a pretty good movie.  The plot was rather predictable from the previews and seemed similar, yet different, than all of Tyler Perry's other movies.  An angry black woman mad at the world because of her current situation and Tyler comes in and saves the day and they all live happily ever after!! The end!!!

What made Good Deeds different was that some parts made me think a little harder than previous movies about what would happen next.  The ending somewhat shocked me initially but after I thought about the sequence of events all I could say was "duh!!".  Gabrielle Union dropped the ball on the relationship by allowing things to go on as they did for so long.  Sometimes you have to take life by the horns and steer it back in the right direction.  Relationships are no different.

The moral of the movie was one that all couples should think about.  So many couples fall into a routine and lose the spontaneity that once attracted them to each other.  Boring, predictable relationships are bound to fail...especially when someone else comes along that peaks your partner's interest.  Take time and remind your significant other why you love them and what attracted you to each other.  Step out of your comfort zone and do something together you ordinarily wouldn't.  Laugh together! Enjoy each other's company!!

You know you love 'em, but do they know that??
